Contracts

This is another one of those practice areas where some website that advertises contract reviews  avoids disclosing that the reviews are done by a smart computer, or a smart analyst, or a reviewer a dozen time zones away in one direction or another.

In this office only licensed attorneys handle your documents. Rest assured that the concept of attorney-client confidentiality attaches to your documents and your matter whether you hire us or not. More importantly, only a person with the knowledge to do so handles your matter.

In a typical situation the attorney will review an existing contract and consult with a client to identify potential issues, answer questions and make recommendations.

Depending on the client’s wishes, this office can also negotiate and revise the client’s contract.

Sometimes the scope of work will involve creating a contract or working agreement. In such a situation it works best for the client to identify the desired terms and conditions without worrying about the how to aspects of the matter.

A contract can define duties and obligations for virtually any type of relationship imaginable.

Examples of common contracts include:
(As mentioned elsewhere on the website), real estate and/or businesses sales;
Asset sales;
UCC and other financing agreements;
Non compete and non disclosure;
Employment and independent contractor agreements;
Employment severance releases;
Retail sales;
Promissory notes;
Breach of contract; and
Contractor/subcontractor/ AIA contracts.

As with other areas of our practice an initial attorney-client agreement outlining scope of work, chronology, and fees and costs is recommended.

Your matter is as important to this office as it is to you. To begin your project email your contract to FeeQuote@scottbagnall.com for a scope of work/fee quote.
